Stephen began his academic journey in 2010 with a Bachelor of Health Science Mental Health at Charles Sturt University Wagga Wagga. In second year, he successfully transferred to the University of New England (UNE) to study medicine.

Stephen has worked as a Service Coordinator with Armidale Aboriginal Home Care and is currently working as a Lecturer at the Oorala Centre, UNE Armidale, while undertaking a PhD.

In 2018, Stephen completed the Professional Certificate in Indigenous Research at the University of Melbourne, and a Master’s degree in Indigenous Health with distinction at Wollongong University.
