A one-day masterclass for Indigenous PhD scholars
The interactive program combines keynote speakers, a panel, and a chance to share your research. These sessions will create space to exchange ideas, hear different perspectives, expand your networks, and strengthen your communication skills in small group settings.
This year's Masterclass will provide a day’s worth of inspiration, connection and skill building and will focus on what it means to find your place as a PhD researcher engaging in scholarship across two worlds with often misaligned expectations.
Masterclass details
The Masterclass runs the day before the Lowitja Institute’s 5th International Indigenous Health and Wellbeing Conference, giving participants an opportunity to stay on, connect and continue conversations throughout conference proceedings.
The masterclass is free but places are limited. Bursaries are available for registration, travel and accommodation to support attendance at both the masterclass and the Lowitja conference

Bursaries available
Four types of bursary support are available, with limited places across each. A full bursary covers registration, travel and accommodation. Other bursaries cover Lowitja Institute Conference registration, travel or accommodation.
Eligibility
- You are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander PhD student.
- You agree to sign up to the Poche Newsletter.
- You are a current member of, or will apply to become a member of, both the Lowitja Institute and the OCHRe Network.
