Abstract

This research will substantially advance the current evidence base for stroke in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (Indigenous) Australians. I am undertaking the first prospective studies designed to examine stroke incidence, risk factors, management and outcomes in Indigenous Australians.

Additionally, my research aims develop the first automated detection system for stroke to be developed in Australia, which will provide a crucial platform for providing optimised stroke care to Indigenous Australians in regional and remote Australia.
