Abstract

This thesis seeks to explore the experiences of First Nations healthcare workers employed in public hospital settings, with the goal of helping workplaces better understand such experiences, including the impact of racism.

First Nations healthcare workers remain under-represented in healthcare, therefore it is critical that our experiences are captured and actioned, to enable greater recruitment and retention which subsequently improves the health and wellbeing of First Nations peoples.

Recommendations will benefit both current and future First Nations healthcare workers, and provide valuable insights to health services on how to better collaborate and support First Nations employees, enhancing workplace cultural safety.
