Stephen is a Narungga and Ngarrindjeri man from South Australia. He is a public health researcher, with experience in health services research, sexual health and adolescents and young people’s health and wellbeing.

Stephen is currently a Research Fellow at the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute, working within the Aboriginal Sexual Health program on several projects aiming to reduce the burden of disease caused by sexually transmitted infections and blood-borne viruses.

Prior to undertaking a career in research Stephen worked in several policy and project roles with various state departments and commonwealth government agencies.

Qualifications

  • Master of Philosophy in Applied Epidemiology at the Australian National University in 2019.
  • Masters of Public Health at Flinders University in 2013
  • Graduate Certificate Health Services Research and Development at The University of Wollongong in 2012
  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences (Public Health) at The University of Adelaide in 2008
