Nakkari Smith

Nakkari is a Mununjarli, Bundjalung woman from Beaudesert, Southeast Queensland on her mother’s side and has Bajan (Barbadian) heritage on her father’s side. Although she was primarily born and raised in Brisbane, Nakkari has lived in various locations across Australia, including Darwin, Cairns, Sydney and Adelaide.
With over 15 years' experience working in the health sector, she has held several diverse roles in not for profit organisations, state and federal government. A passionate advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait communities, Nakkari is dedicated to amplifying voices in decision making processes, championing the needs for inclusive and equitable health solutions.
Nakkari is the Strategic Engagement Manager at the Australian Digital Health Agency. By participating in the Indigenous leadership program, Nakkari aims to enhance her skills and apply them in leadership roles to drive meaningful and positive outcomes.
Qualifications: Bachelor of Arts ( Political Science and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander studies), Master of Social Work (in progress)
