Maryann is a proud Wagedagam Torres Strait Islander woman, born and raised in Zenadth Kes and now living and working on Gimuy-Walubarra Yidinji Country. bringing over two decades of experience across the health, education, and community sectors, with a career dedicated to strengthening cultural governance, workforce capability, and improving health and wellbeing outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Maryann’s work encompasses cultural education, health equity, organisational development, research, and cultural leadership. Dedicated to embedding culturally grounded frameworks, driving systemic reform, and supporting organisations in delivering safe, accountable, and community-led services.

Her my current role as Senior Cultural Educator (Queensland) with JCTS, she designed and delivered cultural education, strengthen partnerships with stakeholders, and contribute to national frameworks that uphold cultural integrity and clinical excellence. Alongside this, providing consultancy support in cultural governance, strategic development, and organisational capability.
