Hillary is a clinical social worker, passionate about improving cultural safety of mental health assessment and treatment for Aboriginal people.
Working at Forensicare, Hillary is the Program Coordinator, providing treatment and supervision of client's who are subject to the Crimes (unfitness to be tried) Mental Impairment Act 1997. She also holds the portfolio as Aboriginal Service Officer.
She has extensive experience in policy and leadership roles within the forensic, mental health and criminal justice system and was appointed as the first Aboriginal Clinical Consultant providing expert advice and secondary consultation to health and mental health services across the Victorian prison system. Hilary has worked at the Department of Justice and Community Safety, driving the development of Cultural Safety Standards to improve the cultural safety of health service provision provided to all Victoria Aboriginal prisoners.
She is a board member on Willum Warrain Aboriginal Association and provides Cultural Supervision and Mentoring to clinicians working in the mental health and justice system.
