Jessie Barnes-Hill

2025 Fellow
Jessie is a proud Wiradjuri woman, with my family originating from Trangie in NSW. For the past 27 years, I have been living and working on Yorta Yorta Country (Shepparton). My connections to community are deep; my partner is a proud Yorta Yorta man, and together we are raising two beautiful children on Country.
Netball is a deep rooted passion of mine, and I’m proud to play in the Rumbalara dress and represent the club and everything it stands for. My lifelong aspirations are to make meaningful contributions toward achieving health, educational and economic parity for mob, both within my local community and more broadly across the nation.
Throughout my working life, I have been afforded a number of opportunities within health and community settings, spanning across early childhood development, families, Elder care, youth and education sectors. I know I must continue to educate myself, expand my knowledge, skill sets and be collaborative in these efforts. In 2025 I will be commencing my Masters of Public Health at The University of Melbourne.
Jessie was the recipient of a MACH Partner Organisation scholarship for this program.
