Khwanruethai Ngampromwongse is a proud Wiradjuri, Ngemba Wayilwan, and Thai PhD candidate at Yardhura Walani, Australian National University. Their research focuses on improving the cultural safety of cancer care for LGBTQIA+ First Nations peoples, particularly in cervical screening. Committed to addressing systemic barriers, Khwanruethai advocates for inclusive healthcare policies and practices for queer Blackfullas.

An active community advocate, they serve as First Nations Voice Cluster Convenor for the Public Health Association of Australia and volunteer as a peer support facilitator with BlackfullaAlt2Su, supporting young Blackfullas with lived experience of suicidality.

In 2024, they were named one of Out for Australia's 30 Under 30 and received the Standout Student Award for advancing LGBTQIA+ visibility and inclusivity in academia. Khwanruethai is honoured to continue their work supporting the communities they belong to.
