Shannon Tobler-Williams

Profile of Shannon Tobler-Williams

2025 Fellow

Naggangbi. I am a Gweagal Dharawal Dunghutti woman from the Aboriginal Communities of La Perouse and Wreck Bay and share the same strong family lineage to the Aboriginal Community of Bellbrook. My kinship connections run throughout NSW and I live on Gandangara/Dharawal Country.

I am committed to improving health outcomes, with a specialised focus on the recruitment, retention and success of First Nations Medicine and Health students. Throughout my career I have held various positions in government, NGO’s and Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations. I have actively contributed to voluntary governance positions for community groups and organisations. This has further established my dedication to advancing First Nations Health and Wellbeing through community, student and stakeholder engagement, policy development and cultural leadership.

I am the Education Support Manager (Indigenous) within the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of New South Wales. As part of the 2025 cohort for the Melbourne Poche Centre for Indigenous Health, I am excited to collaborate with peers and experts to drive meaningful change.
