Thanks Shaun

Shaun Ewen

This year we said a big goodbye to the Centre's Foundation Director and UoM Pro Vice-Chancellor (Place and Indigenous), Professor Shaun Ewen.

Shaun brought his expertise in academic leadership and strong sense of Indigenous leadership in health and higher education to establish our foundation. In his time as Director, Poche supported more than 20 PhD students during their candidature, and three cohorts of leaders through our leadership program.

In addition, Shaun led a joint research project with the Lowitja Institute, A review and analysis of progress in building the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health researcher workforce since 2000. He also held the position of inaugural Associate Dean (Indigenous Development) in the Faculty of MDHS from its inception in 2010 until his appointment to Pro Vice-Chancellor in 2017.

Shaun will be greatly missed at Poche and across the University as he begins his new role in the new year with Griffith University.

Thank you Shaun!
